I'm Shannon.

Teacher, Author, Mentor

I help new teachers be successful.

I know what it feels like to struggle with the stress and demands of being a new teacher and to wish for support and guidance.

I was once you.

Just like you, I couldn't wait to be a teacher.

But my first few years of teaching weren't anything like I thought they would be.  All I did was work because I had to figure everything out on my own.

And continually found that there weren't any supports in the school system that met my learning needs or helped me to adjust to life as a teacher.

So, I tried looking for outside supports. But was unable to find any.

Now, after 25-years of teaching I've made it my mission to create a space for new teachers to get the supports they need; to feel empowered and equipped for their new role in education.

I understand the challenges new teachers face.

If you're feeling like I was as a new teacher, I can help.

I believe that every teacher deserves support and guidance during their first few years.

I've mentored many new teachers during my career.  Now I'm hoping to help even more.

During my career...

I was fortunate to take on a few leadership roles that allowed me to support teachers.

I spent several years as an instructional coach for teachers within my district.  Partnering with teachers to grow their skills and watch their successes was a highlight in my 25-year career in education.

As a Learning Support Teacher for special education, my greatest joy was helping teachers understand the diverse needs of their students and learn to decode the underlying reasons for the behaviours we often see. Working together to implement strategies to support struggling students while watching teachers grow in their knowledge and understanding was extremely fulfilling.

I enjoyed being a resource for teachers and took pride in making their jobs a little easier.
